Woodstock Poetry Society & Festival as part of the Woodstock Arts Consortium is sponsoring the following poetry event as part of the Woodstock "Second Saturdays" Art Events. For a full listing of "Second Saturday" events, see: www.artsinwoodstock.org

Poet Susan Lewis and India Radfar will be the featured readers when the Woodstock Poetry Society & Festival meets at the Woodstock Town Hall, 76 Tinker Street, on Saturday, August 8th at 2pm. Note: WPS&F meetings are held the 2nd Saturday of every month.

The readings will be hosted by Woodstock area poet Phillip Levine. All meetings are free, open to the public, and include an open mike.

Bios:

Susan Lewis - Susan Lewis is the author of Animal Husbandry (Finishing Line Press, 2008) and Commodity Fetishism winner of the Cervena Barva Press Chapbook Award (forthcoming in 2009). Her poetry and fiction have been published widely in journals such as Raritan, The New Orleans Review, Seneca Review, The Journal, The Berkeley Poetry Review, Cimarron Review, and Phoebe.

India Radfar - India Radfar, poet and former resident of Woodstock, N.Y. has resettled in Los Angeles with her husband, Bernard, where they raise their son, Aram and their daughter, Leila, amidst an extended Persian family. Position and Relation, the new book she will be reading from, is about what life was like before, a sort of farewell, and how she discovered in very real terms what mountains can do for language.
