I Want To Fly
I want to fly through the walls
with the spirits hovering in this house
I want to turn myself inside out
and show the weave of my heart
That’s a problem May I be forgiven
that I temper your guess
put too much on your plate lest you starve
and I be condemned for not giving
Dogs, take the stand and howl for me!
I dribble the ball in wonder, in a very close game

Newsworthy
Caught up in a current
event, the flying newspaper
briefly pressed itself
against the car windshield,
canvassed the panicked face,
then sank to the street,
reclining, a Henry Moore,
(full of suggestive holes)
before folding in half,
cardiovasculars done.
